Digital Citizenship Aspect no.7
Creativity credit and copyright
In digital context, creativity credit and copyright is to cite information and to basically show people that we have respected them enough to show everyone where you got the info.
How can we demonstrate a Christian worldview through this characteristic?
We can give credit to all the people who originally created the websites/ pictures that you took. We need to respect other people and what they have created. In Proverbs 11:18, it says that, “ A wicked person earns deceptive wages, but the one who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward.”
So, we need to respect other people and give them credit for what they created instead of stealing it.
What are 3 ways to demonstrate positive digital citizenship with regard to this characteristic?
We need to give credit to certain people who created the art or whatever we want to borrow from the internet. Through the internet, we have information at our fingertips. Even if something is posted, it does not mean that we can steal it because it belongs to the person who created it. A second way to display positive digital citizenship in this aspect is by not pirating music. I personally have pirated movies before and now I realize that it is wrong. The last example is that I can give credit to people who wrote articles that I get information from. Since I have had to write a couple essays in my past, I’ve had to cite the articles that I get my info from.
What are 3 ways to demonstrate negative digital citizenship with regard to this characteristic?

A negative way to use this aspect is by copying art or music and not giving credit. Another way to use this aspect negatively is by pirating music. Even though it is better if it is free, it is not the right thing to do. The last way to demonstrate bad digital citizenship is by not citing where I got my information. In the future, we are going to have to cite sources or else we might get kicked out of college or even a business.
